Bookouture sign three books from USA Today bestselling author Pamela Fagan Hutchins

We are delighted to announce that Associate Publisher Helen Jenner has signed USA Today bestselling author Pamela Fagan Hutchins for three books in a new US-set detective series. Helen acquired World All Language rights (plus audio, Film & TV) for three books which will publish in 2024.

Bookouture sign sequel to The Housemaid by Freida McFadden

We are beyond thrilled to announce that Associate Publisher Ellen Gleeson has acquired the sequel to global bestseller The Housemaid in a deal for World All Languages, including audio and Film and TV rights, direct from the author. The sequel will publish in March 2023.

The Housemaid published in April 2022 and has since sold over 100,000 copies and become a phenomenal success in Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited subscription reading programme. Bookouture’s Rights team, headed up by Richard King, have sold foreign rights in 22 languages, and film rights were snapped up in a four-way auction by producer Todd Lieberman at Hidden Pictures in a partnership with Lionsgate. 

A mass market paperback is coming up from Little, Brown’s Sphere imprint in December 2022; and both The Housemaid and the sequel will be published in trade paperback by Grand Central Publishing in the US.

Freida McFadden has self-published thirteen psychological thrillers and became an Amazon no.1. bestseller in the US with The Locked Door.

Bookouture sign USA Today bestselling author Marty Wingate

Bookouture are delighted to announce that Commissioning Editor Rhianna Louise has acquired World rights for a gripping new Golden Age cosy crime series by Marty Wingate, in a four-book deal for publication in 2024 with Christina Hogrebe at Jane Rotrosen Agency.

The historical mystery series features Mabel Canning, who moves from the tiny village of Peasmarsh to London after answering an advertisement for The Useful Women Agency. This was a real London agency that connected gentlewomen who wanted jobs with the estates that found themselves without full time labour in the post WW1 years. Very swiftly Mabel ends up solving a thrilling murder, and soon she launches the agency’s most secretive service: private investigation.

Bookouture re-sign contracts with Hokin and Fripp

We are thrilled to announce that we have re-signed contracts with historical fiction authors Catherine Hokin and Helen Fripp.

Associate Publisher Emily Gowers has acquired world all language rights for two Second World War dual-timeline novels from Catherine Hokin.

Associate Publisher Ellen Gleeson acquired World English languages, plus audio, Film and TV rights, for two more sweeping and beautiful historical fiction books by Helen Fripp via Kiran Kataria at Keane Kataria Agency. The first, working title The Stars Stop Shining, will publish in 2024 and tells the story of a teenage girl swept up in the French Resistance after finding a little boy hiding from the Nazis and clutching a copy of her own favourite book, The Little Prince.
