Bookouture sign 8-book deal with Alice Castle

We’re delighted to share the news that Associate Publisher Ellen Gleeson has acquired World All Language rights, plus audio, from Justin Nash at Kate Nash Literary Agency for the south London-set Beth Haldane cosy mystery series by Alice Castle. The first seven books will publish in August 2022, with the eighth to follow in November. Originally published in 2017, Bookouture will give the series a makeover, with new packaging and targeted marketing to help Alice’s writing reach a whole new audience.

Ellen said,

‘As soon as I opened the pages of Beth Haldane’s first adventure, I was totally drawn in to the “perfect” suburban world of Dulwich Village, where nothing is as it seems and mysteries wait for Beth to solve at every turn! I know readers will be thrilled to see seven of the books available at the same time and it’s really exciting to be part of this ambitious publishing plan as we grow Alice’s series.’

Alice said,

‘I’m absolutely thrilled that Bookouture is publishing my south London cosy crime novels featuring Beth Haldane, my single mum amateur sleuth. It’s such a pleasure working with the brilliant Ellen Gleeson. As soon as we met, I knew Beth was in the safest possible hands. I am now working on the next book in the series. I can’t wait for everyone to read this exciting new chapter in Beth’s adventures.’
