Bookouture and Thread announce new hires

Bookouture announces the arrival of Melanie Price as Head of Digital Marketing which marks a targeted and strategic expansion of their digital marketing across all titles. Melanie, previously Marketing Manager at One More chapter, will report to Digital Marketing Director, Alex Crow.

Bookouture’s non-fiction imprint Thread is also expanding with Myrto Kalavrezou, previously a Press Officer at Hodder & Stoughton, joining as Campaigns Manager – a newly created role responsible for building the Thread brand and creating integrated publicity and marketing campaigns for the non-fiction titles. Myrto will report to Thread Publisher, Claire Bord.

Melanie Price and Myrto Kalavrezou join the company on 10th May 2021.

In other great news Natalie Edwards will be joining us on the 4th of May as a Publishing Executive after impressing us all with her perfect mix of creative and analytical skills.

Organised, versatile, proactive and data-loving, Natalie currently works as Editorial Assistant at the British Journal of Cancer (Cancer Research UK) and has also previously worked at DK and done work experience at Michael Joseph. As well as supporting the team three editorial team, Natalie will be working with Natalie Butlin and Lauren Morrissette in the Commercial Team.

Bookouture sign new heart-warming women’s fiction novel from Tracy Rees

We are delighted to announce that we’ve signed a new heart-warming women’s fiction novel from bestselling author Tracy Rees.

Publishing Director Kathryn Taussig acquired World all language rights for one new book, to be published in 2022. Tracy’s first novel with Bookouture will publish in May 2021, followed by another later in the year.

Kathryn said,

‘Tracy is incredibly talented and also wonderful to work with. Reading her contemporary women’s fiction is like drinking a steaming mug of warm hot chocolate – it’s totally delicious and a complete delight! I’m so pleased to be signing this book and I hope we’ll publish many more together.’

Bookouture sign acclaimed women’s fiction author Norma Curtis

We are delighted to announce that Publishing Director Kathryn Taussig has acquired World English and Audio rights from Judith Murdoch at Judith Murdoch Literary Agency for two women’s fiction titles by acclaimed author Norma Curtis. The first book, The Captain’s Wife, will publish in April 2022, followed by a second in June 2022.

Kathryn said,

‘Norma’s writing is just stunning – beautiful, moving and wise. I knew from the moment I read her new book that it would be a perfect fit with Bookouture. Set between the end of World War II and the present day, The Captain’s Wife centres around a tragic love story sixty years in the making. Bookouture re-sign contracts with Curham and Harrison

We’re absolutely delighted to tell you that we have re-signed contracts with authors Siobhan Curham and Suzette D. Harrison. 

Commissioning Editor Cara Chimirri has acquired World English rights, including audio, for two new historical novels by bestselling author Siobhan Curham, via Jane Willis at United Agents. Publishing in 2022, they will bring readers more sweeping Second World War stories, featuring strong women in extraordinary circumstances,.

She knows just what historical fiction readers love and never fails to deliver something wonderfully unexpected that sheds new light on different aspects of history. Bookouture re-sign contracts with Tennant, Pollard and Kerr

We’re so excited to share the brilliant news that we have re-signed contracts with Tilly Tennant, Helen Pollard and Kennedy Kerr. 

Bookouture have acquired three new books from bestselling author Tilly Tennant. Associate Publisher Lydia Vassar Smith acquired World English Language rights to the titles from Madeleine Milburn at The Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency.

Lydia said,

I am overjoyed to be working with Tilly on another three books. Tilly’s writing is fresh and uplifting and keeps readers coming back for more. Her ideas are unique and hooky and she is a wonderful person to work with’.

Tilly said,

We are excited to share the news that Commissioning Editor Cara Chimirri has acquired World All Language rights for a new novel from bestselling author Helen Pollard. This will be Helen’s first Christmas book, taking us to the idyllic Fox Farm, where Christmas isn’t going according to plan this year, and will publish in Autumn 2021. Helen’s last novel, The Little Shop in Cornwall, was shortlisted for this year’s Romantic Novelists’ Association awards.

Bookouture re-sign contracts with Richmonde, Dranfield and Sanderson

We’re THRILLED to bits to announce that we have re-contracted some of your favourite thriller authors.

We are delighted to sign a new two-book contract with USA Today bestselling author Arianne Richmonde.

Associate Publisher Helen Jenner signed a world all languages deal for two US-set psychological thrillers. Bookouture has published two psychological thrillers from Arianne Richmonde with The Newlyweds publishing in January 2021. The two new books will publish in 2021 and 2022.

‘I couldn’t be happier to be signing Arianne for two more books. Arianne’s writing is taught and twisty and her settings always so vivid and dramatic. She has delivered two brilliant books in The Wife’s House and The Newlyweds and now she has created two more outstanding ideas for the next books. I can’t wait for her fans to read them!’

Bookouture are beyond excited to announce that they have signed two more crime thrillers from Wendy Dranfield.  Associate Publisher Jessie Botterill has secured a new contract with Wendy Dranfield for World all language rights (including audio, film and TV) for two new crime titles; the third in her series featuring Detective Madison Harper and P.I. Nate Monroe, and a standalone thriller.

K.L. Slater hits over 2 million sales

We are overjoyed to announce that K.L. Slater has now sold over 2 million copies of her books. Bookouture have published twelve novels with Slater since 2016 and have three new K.L Slater books publishing in 2021.
