I founded Bookouture in September 2012 with a vision to establish the best of a new generation of digital publishers.
After 12 years working in traditional publishers, I know the value they can add to authors – but also the limitations. With Bookouture I wanted focus on creating global author brands and adding value with smart digital marketing as well as top-notch editing.
Shaping our social media, digital marketing and publishing at Harlequin UK kept me very much on top of the incredible opportunities for connecting with readers online. That’s something I’m passionate about and is a key part of Bookouture.
I’ve been lucky enough to work on growing incredibly talented authors from Debbie Macomber to Diane Chamberlain and Alex Kava. Rapidly growing the MIRA commercial fiction list in the UK, as part of a fantastic team, has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in publishing.
Equally working with the fantastic brand of Mills & Boon along with an amazing author base and loyal readers has been invaluable.
At Bookouture, we’ll be delivering bespoke publishing and marketing for every single one of our authors – in a way not always possible in larger publishers. And we’ll be establishing our reputation based on creativity that delivers – one book and one campaign at a time.
