What does bookouture do exactly?

We’re a digital publisher of female fiction.  We consider ourselves part of a new generation of publishers, pushing the boundaries, connecting authors with readers, and focusing on creating the most awesome publishing possible for a truly global market.

What is digital publishing?

Our publishing is first and foremost of eBooks.  This means that we can publish to a global audience via the likes of Amazon, Apple, Barnes and Noble, Google, Kobo and others.
It also means that we’re free of the constraints of traditional publishing – we can be really quick to market but equally, if we need more time, we can focus on getting the book right and not compromise on quality in order to meet print deadlines.
Perhaps most importantly, publishing digitally enables us to spend more time focusing on readers – not retailers – and therefore the long term growth of our author’s following.

Why publish with bookouture?

We offer bespoke digital publishing – so our publishing and marketing is tailored to your author brand – not the other way around.  Put simply, our aim is to add value to the publishing process in terms of connecting authors to reader.
We can’t publish every submission we get, but for our authors we offer a marketing focus and branding expertise which puts us a step ahead of other publishers.
We also offer a fantastic 45% of net receipts royalty rate.

Will bookouture publish my book in print?

bookouture does make all of its author’s books available physically through our print-on-demand (POD) service.

Does bookouture pay its authors an advance?

No, we don’t.  Our high digital royalty rates and speed to market offset the lack of advance.

What royalty rate does bookouture pay?

We pay a highly competitive 45% of net receipts royalty on eBooks – to all our authors.
We believe is keeping things simple, transparent and fair.
What about DRM? (Digital Rights Management)

We believe the best way to combat piracy is to have our author’s book’s readily available at a reasonable price, and that readers want to be able to have the flexibility to read the books they have bought as they like.
Because of that, where possible, our books are available without DRM – though some retailers still insist that eBooks have DRM.

Will my manuscript be edited?

Yes – we work with some of the best editors around to ensure that your book is the best it can be.
We also ensure every title is rigorously copy-edited.
