Bookouture 2015 results

Bookouture hits 2.47 million in 2015…Wow – what a year 2015 was. It was a year in which we regularly had to rip up our projections and aim higher. A year when we grew in just about every way possible.

We’re delighted to share with you today a snapshot of Bookouture’s results – and if you scroll down, you’ll see it all summed up in a neat infographic.

The headline figure is that we sold 2.47 million copies last year – an amazing result made all the more remarkable by how we got there (we still have less than a hundred books published).

The figures that we really like though are these:

  • We averaged more than 30,000 sales per book
  • We had 5 new releases sold over 100,000 – from only 44 published
  • Over 60% of our new UK releases hit the Amazon.co.uk top 100

The reason we like them is that our aim isn’t to be the biggest digital publisher out there – it is to be the one that adds the most value to its authors. We don’t get it right every time, but it’s a hit rate that speaks for itself.

None of this would have been possible without our hugely talented team of authors, very supportive retailers, and the tireless enthusiasm of hundreds of book reviewers and bloggers. We are very thankful for everything you all do.

We’re currently busy building on this for 2016 and are always on the look out for more talented authors and brilliant stories. If you have one you’d like to submit, you can do that HERE.

We have a feeling that 2016 is going to be another great year…
