Bookouture sign new Irish detective series by Geraldine Hogan

We are so excited to share that Commissioning Editor Abigail Fenton has acquired World English language rights for two books in a new Irish detective series by author Geraldine Hogan, in a deal struck with Judith Murdoch of Judith Murdoch Literary Agency. Geraldine also writes women’s fiction as Faith Hogan.

The first book in the Detective Iris Locke series sees the Limerick Murder Squad investigating the deaths of a mother and her two children in a house fire, which links back to a case decades ago of a baby stolen from her pram in the garden. It will publish in August 2019, with book two following in December 2019.

Abigail said of the announcement,

Having admired Geraldine’s writing for some time, I’m delighted to welcome her to Bookouture. This new series combines gripping plots, brilliantly flawed characters, and fantastic atmosphere. Crime fans are going to love Detective Iris Locke, and I can’t wait to share these books with readers.

Bookouture re-sign Coleman and Viggiano

We’re thrilled to announce that we will be bringing you more fabulous reads from both Colleen Coleman and Debbie Viggiano. 

Commissioning Editor Abigail Fenton has agreed a new two-book contract with Colleen Coleman, bestselling author of Don’t Stop Me Now. Two new hilarious and uplifting romantic comedies will publish in summer 2020 and 2021.

Abigail Fenton said of the deal,

And in other brilliant news, Associate Publisher Kathryn Taussig has acquired a new romantic comedy from Debbie Viggiano, bestselling author of What Holly’s Husband Did and Stockings and Cellulite. This hilarious and feel-good novel will publish in summer 2019.

Of the new deal, Debbie Viggiano said,

Bookouture re-signs thriller authors Browne and Halsall

So excited today to share that we have re-signed deals with two of your favourite thriller writers. 

Commissioning Editor Helen Jenner signed a new three book deal for three psychological thrillers from author Sheryl Browne which will publish in 2019 and 2020.

Helen says,

Sheryl Browne is one of those authors who just knocks it out of the park every time she delivers. Her books are expertly written psychological thrillers that deliver bags of tension and pace. I cannot wait to start working on her new ideas.’

Sheryl says,

Working with Bookouture on my last three books been nothing short of inspirational. And in other fabulous news, Associate Publisher Isobel Akenhead has signed a deal for World English rights with Hayley Steed at the Madeleine Milburn Agency, for two further novels from author Rona Halsall. The first, The Honeymoon is a gripping psychological crime novel about a happy-ever-after gone very wrong. It will publish in August 2019, followed by a second novel later in the year.

Isobel Akenhead said,

I absolutely love working with Rona. Her voice is utterly unique, and her novels are dark, brilliant, and completely original. Readers’ jaws will be on the floor with all the twists and turns.

Bookouture signs TV presenter and author Julia Roberts

We are SO EXCITED today to share that Commissioning Editor Abigail Fenton has acquired world rights for three books in a new detective series from TV presenter and author Julia Roberts.

The first book will publish in July 2019, with book two following in November 2019 and book three in April 2020.

Abigail said of the announcement,

I’m so excited to work with Julia on these books. As soon as I started reading her submission I was completely swept up in the writing, and with a twist-filled plot and compelling characters, I just know readers are going to love it too! Exciting news! More thrillers on the way from Kovach and Hood

WE ARE SO excited to be sharing news of the re-signing of two of your favourite thriller authors.  

Following the success of The Next Girl, Commissioning Editor, Helen Jenner, has signed a new deal with crime author, Carla Kovach. Three books in the Gina Harte series will publish in 2019 and 2020.

Helen says,

I am so excited to be working with Carla Kovach again. Her first two books have been so well received, particularly The Next Girl, which sat at the top of the UK iBooks charts for five weeks. And that really is testament to the world Carla has created for Detective Gina Harte. Kindle UK and US bestselling author Laura Elliot signs new deal

We are over the moon to share more great news with you today!

Publisher Claire Bord has acquired World All Languages including Audio and Film and TV rights in a new book from bestselling author Laura Elliot.   Laura’s novels with Bookouture, including The Betrayal, Guilty and most recently The Wife Before Me have all hit the UK and US Kindle bestseller lists and collectively sold over 400,000 copies to date.

Claire Bord said of the new deal,

Laura was one of the first authors I signed for Bookouture when I joined the company four years ago and in that time, she has established a rapidly growing global readership for her incredible novels. Bookouture re-sign two of your favourite women’s fiction authors

WE’RE SO VERY EXCITED to share news about re-signing two of your favourite women’s fiction authors.

Following the huge success of The Little Cottage on the Hill series this year, Associate Publisher Jessie Botterill has signed a new world rights deal with Emma Davies for three women’s fiction novels to be released in 2019. The House on Hope Corner will publish in March, followed by two more standalones, and promises all the same feel-good magic we have come to expect from this extremely talented author.

Jessie says,

Every time Emma delivers a new book I just have this huge smile on my face before I’ve even started reading; expect unforgettable characters, emotional rollercoasters, sweep-you-off-your-feet romance and happy endings that leave you with a little spring in your step. Bookouture signs two thrilling police procedural novels from J.M. Hewitt

We’re delighted to share with you that Publishing Executive Maisie Lawrence has acquired World English language rights for two books by author J.M. Hewitt from Laetitia Rutherford of Watson, Little Ltd.

J.M. Hewitt’s first book is a dark and twisty crime novel set around the canals of Manchester, where a young female detective must catch a dangerous serial killer who is on the loose. Hewitt’s second novel will be part of the same series, this time with a new thrilling case for our detective to crack.
